The City of Sydney and the NSW State Government are undertaking the feasibility studies needed for a social and affordable housing development on a 3.6 hectare site in Glebe. The project will demonstrate how people can live affordably in the City with access to high quality cultural and community services.
The City has developed a draft affordable rental housing strategy with specific actions aimed at achieving affordability targets. The draft strategy is the result of an extensive housing analysis to identify and respond to housing issues in the local government area.
The Draft City of Sydney Affordable Rental Housing Strategy was recently publicly exhibited. Submissions and comments are being considered and the report will come before Councillors for consideration in coming months.
