New Moves for Newtown

King Street is Newtown’s greatest public asset and its strongest urban element. Ideas for the Newtown Activity Hub would integrate Newtown Station and link to Enmore Road and the tram shed precinct, giving priority to pedestrians, enhancing public space and improving links between the train station, Neighbourhood Centre and Erskineville Road.

Oxford Street Cultural Precinct

Project

Oxford Street Cultural Precinct

The City is developing an Oxford Street Cultural Precinct Strategy. The Strategy will capture and build on Oxford's Street's character as a strong urban cultural quarter of book shops, cafés and restaurants, performing and visual art venues, education institutions, fashion and design shops, and creative industries.

Chinatown Public Domain Study

Project

Chinatown Public Domain Study

The Chinatown Public Domain Study identifies opportunities to improve Chinatown's public domain. It makes very specific recommendations to renew streets, laneways and public spaces and to support the area's economic, cultural and social activities. The study builds on suggestions and ideas from the community and considers Chinatown’s role in implementing the Sustainable Sydney 2030 Vision.
