The City of Sydney is developing new approaches to deliver affordable housing. These projects will demonstrate how people can live affordably in the City with access to high quality cultural and community services.
The projects will cater for key workers, first home buyers and families as well as meeting the needs of vulnerable people at risk of homelessness. These projects will help ensure that social and not-for-profit housing combines to make a total of 15 per cent of all housing stock in the City of Sydney.
The project ideas will demonstrate best practice in environmental sustainability, excellence in urban design and architecture, encourage alternative transport solutions and minimise car use.
This project ideas identifies the potential for a partnership between City of Sydney and the Department of Housing to undertake innovative and sustainable housing projects with a mix of private, key workers and social housing.
