liveable green network

The City’s Liveable Green Network is a safe and attractive walking and cycling network across the City’s streets, parks and open spaces.

The network will be made up of lanes and main streets with pedestrian and cycling priority, traffic calming and densely planted with trees. The aim is that these routes will provide an alternative transport choice to help people get into the City Centre, connect Village Centres to each other, and link our parks and green spaces.

Roadways would provide safe, simple and connected bike paths that are shady and attractive, with the stretch along Alexandra Canal forming a waterside park.
