As former Deputy Mayor, Gavron helped shape the London Plan, implementing sustainable design and construction across the city. Also a key figure in the establishment of the London Climate Change Agency, she is internationally recognised for her environmental expertise. In 2006, Business Week Magazine named her as one of the world's twenty most influential people in the battle against greenhouse gas emissions.
