2011 Household & Residential Surveys

The City of Sydney is gathering information about our communities that we can use as a benchmark when measuring the progress of Sustainable Sydney 2030 and other Council programs and plans.

This information will be gathered into what is called a Community Indicators Framework that has 100 different indicators.

Data for the indicators comes from many sources, including the 2011 ABS Census of Population and Housing and the City of Sydney Floor Space and Employment Survey. Many indicators need to come directly from our residents. To capture this information, the City is carrying out two surveys, one of households and one of residents.

The Household Survey asked for information about housing and household access to goods and services. The Resident Survey will ask for information about a person’s transport, work, health, activities and connections with the community.

The data gathered will be used in the Community Indicator Framework, and for feedback to relevant Council departments to help improve the community programs they run.

The City has received over 8,000 repsonses, and would like to thank the community for its support and input.

The online Surveys have now closed.  Council is accepting posted surveys until Monday 10th October.

Note: translated Surveys will be available and accepted until Monday 10 October 2011.
