About Parking Meters

The City has 3 types of meters located throughout the Local Government Area (LGA) – MX, Parkeon and Hectronic meters.  All City of Sydney meters accept payment by coin and many also accept payment by credit card and mobile phone.

All parking meters in the City of Sydney are inspected, tested and maintained daily by technicians. The City’s meters also have a communications system which automatically monitors the state of each meter and raises an alarm if a fault occurs. Technicians then attend and fix any meter faults within two hours of notification.

If you have any issues with operating a parking meter please contact the relevant parking meter call centre to log the fault.

A REFERENCE NUMBER PROVIDED BY THE CALL CENTRE DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY WAIVE AN INFRINGEMENT.  IT IS ONLY A CASE NUMBER USED TO IDENTIFY YOUR CALL WITH THE TECHNICIAN’S FINDINGS AFTER THE METER IS INSPECTED.
