How to Pay for Your Parking

Paying for parking in the City is easy and secure.  In addition to payment by coin, motorists have the option to pay for parking on majority of the meters with a credit card or mobile phone.  All parking meters display user-friendly instructions to help you with your transaction.

PLEASE NOTE - If you receive a parking Infringement for not displaying a valid ticket, and the machine is found to have been operating and accepting coins at the time, then any infringement issued will stand.

Please be aware that you must abide by the parking restrictions and time limits imposed by the signs.

Coin

All parking meters in the city accept payment by coin.  To make a payment simply insert coins to purchase the required amount of parking. When using a Pay and Display parking meter, remember to collect your printed ticket and place it on your vehicle dashboard with the expiry time visible.

Credit Card

Majority of parking meters accept VISA, MasterCard and AMEX. 

To pay for parking using your credit card simply:

  1. Press the + button to begin credit card payment
  2. Use the + and – buttons to adjust the amount you need to pay
  3. Press the TICKET button to confirm the amount
  4. Insert and then remove your credit card to pay
  5. Collect your ticket and place it on your dashboard with the expiry time visible.

Press RED button at any stage to cancel payment

Mobile Phone

You can register to pay for parking with your mobile phone online through mPark or by calling 02 9993 6333.

Motorists who choose to pay using their mobile phone have additional benefits:

  • An optional reminder by SMS text message when their parking is due to expire
  • View and print your parking transaction records online
  • Amend registration and payment details online
  • Create family and friend accounts under your online account and have charges billed to you
  • Motorists who have already registered to use mPARK in other Local Government Areas ( North Sydney, Burwood, Mosman, Warringah and Pittwater ) can use the service in the City without having to re-register.

 

To pay for parking using a mobile phone, simply:

  1. Call mPARK on 02 9993 6333 from your mobile phone
  2. Follow the voice prompts to complete your payment
  3. Collect your ticket and place it on your dashboard with the expiry time visible.
