The City of Sydney's public art program is available on the City Art website. Make sure you check the City Art News section here for the latest information on our temporary and permanent public arts projects and programs.

Across the 26 hectares of the City of Sydney, there are up to 400 pieces of public art, including 58 statues and memorials, 77 sculptures and installations, 30 major fountains and the City provides 115 drinking fountains (water bubblers) in its streets and parks.

Each year the City commissions new permanent and temporary works of public art through cultural grants and other programs working with the private sector and the NSW Government.

The City has been transforming its laneways with paintings, art instalments and the establishment of 40 small bars.

In the second half of 2011 eight new completed public art projects involving over 30 artists in various locations around the City were unveiled.
