Business in Village Centres

Business Of Village Centres

Sustainability for our City means essential local services and jobs need to be in walking distance, with convenient public transport to the City Centre and other Villages. The City’s 10 Village Centres will provide a focus for doing business, healthcare, taking transport, shopping, meeting people and having cultural and learning experiences.

Village Centres recognise the economic role of the key job centres outside of the City Centre and nurtures further development. They are places with distinctive and diverse character around key community main streets.

Core elements of a Village Centre include:

  • transport interchange
  • primary school
  • business centres
  • library
  • community space
  • childcare
  • Wi-Fi hotspot
  • fresh food market
  • bike parking
  • health and medical
  • City of Sydney service centre
  • a range of optional activity centres.
