Vehicular Crossing (Driveway) Applications

Upon receipt of your application for a vehicular crossing, the City needs to establish whether approval for a crossing from the kerb to your property boundary will be granted.

A prerequisite for approval is that vehicle access to the property must already exist or has been approved by a previous development consent from the City and is yet to be constructed.

Factors that also influence this approval are design considerations, traffic and pedestrian concerns which will be included in the evaluation process.

Following approval you will have two options available to undertake the construction of your vehicular crossing, these are:

  1. to use your own contractor to construct it to City standards and specifications; or
  2. to accept the quote for the City to construct it for you. This quotation will be forwarded to you for your consideration if approval is granted.

Further details and the impact of your decision to use either option will be provided for you in writing when your application is processed.
