Was The Rocks Sydney’s First Chinatown? In The Chinese On The Rocks, Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority and City of Sydney Historical Associationinvestigate Australia’s first Chinese settlement.

Presenter Monique Galloway, an archaeologist who has studied Opium Dens in The Rocks, presents historical documents and finds from archaeological digs in the area. Combining the voices of businessmen, women and the local police with the archaeological evidence, she guides us through the many facets of the lives of early Chinese settlers in The Rocks.
