China Dreaming is a photographic series created during an artist-in-residency in China. Innovative Australian photographer Olivia Martin-McGuire photographs ordinary people “escaping” from obvious manifestations of China’s economic boom through dreaming. The project provides a re-imagining of the West and a ‘new world’. The show is intertwined with backlit images of people dreaming with other portraits and fantastical images of China’s burgeoning landscape.
