Homelessness Projects

The City's Homelessness Unit undertakes a range of projects and research. Some current projects include:

  • Development of a training program for volunteers in homelessness services.
  • Convening the CBD Homelessness Co-ordination Group.
  • Working with mobile food services to improve co-ordination and assistance to people experiencing homelessness.
  • Research into costs associated with chronic homelessness.
  • Improving responses to long term homeless people who are ‘vulnerable and complex’. A forum was hosted by the City in partnership with other key agencies on 16 June 2006. A number of actions identified at that forum are being followed up.
