Draft Planning Agreement : 301-303 Botany Road, Zetland, (also known as the John Newell site)
Please Note: the exhibition period for this item has now closed.
The City of Sydney proposes to enter into a voluntary Planning Agreement relating to the land at 301-303 Botany Road, Zetland, also known as the ‘John Newell’ site.
The subject site is within the Green Square Town Centre. South Sydney Local Environmental Plan 1998 contains controls for the land that allow for significant development uplift. The planning controls are currently “deferred” until the landowner enters into a voluntary Planning Agreement with the City of Sydney to dedicate the essential land required for the public domain and contribute to the essential infrastructure for the Green Square Town Centre.
The landowner has offered to enter into such an Agreement in order to “un-defer” the controls for the subject land. This Agreement is on public exhibition until Friday 16 September 2011.
The draft Voluntary Planning Agreement and an explanatory note are available for download.
Once matters raised during the public exhibition are considered, the Agreement will be finalised and submitted to the Department of Planning and Infrastructure with a request that the Minister “un-defer” the planning controls for the site. You can read more about the plans for the site here.
