Draft City East and Surry Hills Urban Design Study Addendum Report

This addendum report is a study of 14 properties on the north side of Wylde Street and Macleay Street in Potts Point that were not included in the original City East and Surry Hills Urban Design Study, 2006. The findings and recommendations will form an addendum to the City East and Surry Hills Urban Design Study Report.

Allen Jack and Cottier, Architectural and Urban Design Consultants, prepared the original study and were also engaged to undertake this work using the same methodology which included;

  • Assessing the urban character of the area
  • Surveying the area’s existing built form, including heights, floor space ratios (FSR) and setbacks
  • Recommending appropriate height, FSR, development and site coverage controls based upon the neighbourhood character and the structure plan for the City East.

No additional community consultation was considered necessary, as this part of the street had been considered in a general sense in the original workshops.

Comments about the recommendations are invited to be submitted for the consultant’s consideration when finalising the City East and Surry Hills Urban Design Study Addendum Report.  If you would like to comment to a Council officer directly please contact Kati Westlake, whose details are listed below.
