Large Scale Developments

Certain large scale developments in the city will require a Development Plan, which is similar to a site-specific Master Plan or Development Control Plan.

A Development Plan enables the developer and the City of Sydney to consider and respond to the unique characteristics of a site. It provides a good platform for achieving appropriate development that enhances the city and accomplishes design excellence.

Not all developments require a Development Plan application. Applicants should contact the City to check whether a Development Plan application is required and which relevant planning instruments apply.
