Planning Controls & Conditions

City of Sydney plans and policies provide an urban planning framework for development and conservation within the City of Sydney Local Government Area.

Special Notice - Exempt & Complying Development
State Environmental Planning Policy (Exempt and Complying Development Codes) 2008 has state-wide application and commenced on 27 February 2009 and will override exempt development controls in existing DCPs.

Council Planning Resolution – Lord Mayoral Minute
Council resolved on 19 April 2004 to adopt the Lord Mayoral Minute Improving Certainty and Transparency in Applying Planning Controls.  The Minute should be read in conjunction with planning instruments and controls covering the City of Sydney Local Government Area.
