You’re always welcome at the library! You can come in and relax or join in the activities. Click here for ‘What’s New’.

Getting a library card

City of Sydney Library card.

You don’t have to have a library card to come in and read in the library. If you decide to join you will have your own card and you will be able to borrow books, CDs, DVDs.

If you are under 16 years of age a parent’s signature is needed. For fees and details click here.

What Can I Borrow?

You can start using your library card straight away to borrow up to 20 items for 3 weeks:

  • Books, magazines – 20 at a time
  • Talking books – 20 at a time
  • CDs – 20 items at a time
  • DVDs & VCDs - 10 at a time
  • Videos - 10 at a time
  • Language Kits – 2 at a time

Late Fines

Remember to renew your books and anything else you borrow. The fines are 25c per day. You can renew items online, by telephone 02 9265 9008 or email renewals@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au
