I’m a member. How do I sign up?
Its easy to have access to these wonderful services. You need to be a library member and you need to create an online account.
Just contact us and give us the following information:
- Your library barcode number
- Email address / mobile phone
- A library Password [any combination of letters/numbers up to 12 characters]
- A library 4 digit Pin Number
- A library Alias [if you want to review books online]

Tell everyone about the books you read
Search for the books you’ve read on our new catalogue library.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au. Simply click on the ‘Write a Review’ link and login using your online account details. Agree to the terms and conditions, use the star rating to rate your book and write your review. Your review will appear listed under your Alias details once it has been approved and published.
Receive your notification via email and SMS
City of Sydney Library can send you notices when your books are ready to collect via SMS, just let us know your mobile number when you sign up for your online account.
Can’t find a title you need?
If you search our catalogue and you cannot find the title you are looking for let us see if we can find it for you. We can locate the item for you at other libraries by doing an ‘Inter Library Loan’ for a small fee.

We can assess your suggestion to purchase the item for our collection.

Not a member?
Join online. You can start using the catalogue services straight away. You will need to come to a staffed branch to get your library card. For all membership conditions go to our membership page.
