Branch Transfers
Transfers are free and take 2 working days
Request a transfer if the item you need is ‘On Shelf’ at another branch of the City of Sydney Library Network.
- Branch transfers are free.
- Delivery takes two working days.
- Items can be collected after 3:00pm on the day of delivery, then anytime during opening hours.
- Items are held for 7 days.
- Please check the library catalogue for items 'On Shelf.'

- Call a branch or visit a branch to make a request.

Reserve Items That Are Out On Loan
Reservations ($1.00 fee paid on pick-up)
Request a reservation if the item you need is out on loan (see the library catalogue for a ‘Due Date’).
The library will hold the item for you and notify you by mail when it is ready for pick-up.
Returns
Items can be returned at any branch of the library (or in the after-hours return chutes at Glebe, Haymarket, Newtown, Ultimo, Waterloo).
Not Available for Transfers and/or Reservations
The following items cannot be transferred -
- Music CDs
- Magazines
- Children’s picture books (Junior Easy)
- Paperbacks
- Magazines – reservations not available.
