Haymarket NSW 2000
This iconic inner-city park located between Central Station and Chinatown is popular with city workers and commuters particularly at lunch time. Belmore Park features extensive grass areas, wide shaded tree-lined paths and ample seating. Drinking fountains are located within the park and an automated public toilet located on the park boundary at Hay Street provide amenity to park visitors and commuters. Locally accessible public toilets can also be found within the adjacent Central Railway Station off Eddie Avenue. Park paths are illuminated at night and the main pedestrian thoroughfares benefit from CCTV surveillance.
A compact layout including hard and soft landscaped areas, central location, excellent public transport connections and convenient power outlets (single and 3-phase) make this park a popular place for community, civic and corporate events. Each year the park plays host to Chinese New Celebrations including the Chinese Noodle Markets and is popular meeting point for public assemblies and outdoor entertainment.
