Located on the eastern fringe of the central business district extending from St Mary’s Road, Woolloomooloo to the Sydney Harbour, the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain comprise over 65 hectares of quality landscaped parkland.
The Botanic Gardens contain over 45,000 plants featuring over 10,000 groups of native and exotic flora on display in thematic gardens, a tropical plant house and herbarium. The historic gardens boast spectacular harbour vistas from a network of interconnected thematic gardens many featuring works of public art or water features. A visitor centre, book shop, restaurants, cafes and public toilets provide a high level of utility for the 3 million annual visitors.
The adjacent Domain parklands contain a number of sports fields available for hire and the spacious grassed open spaces host a number of community and cultural events throughout the year.
