Fitzroy Gardens
Lawrence Hargrave Reserve
Macleay Street
Kings Cross NSW 2011
A perfect place to sit and watch the world go by, Fitzroy Gardens nestled in the heart of energetic Kings Cross is a paved plaza hosting the landmark El Alamein Fountain punctuated by garden beds and public seating. The park features an enclosed playground suitable for younger children with swings, slide and climbing structure. Automated public toilets are located beneath the Kings Cross Police Station facing the park. A community market featuring book, clothing and bric-a-brac stalls is held in the park on Sundays.
Lawrence Hargrave Reserve, located across Ward Avenue is a partially enclosed park with grass lawns, garden beds and groves of casuarinas. This park is a designated off-leash area at all times.
These two parks will undergo major upgrades in 2009 to refresh and reinforce their focus as a landscaped village square and community gathering place.
