Green Clean Chinatown Business Awards

Currently, the commercial and industrial sector creates 47% of all waste that is generated in the Sydney Metropolitan area.

Businesses have a large responsibility to manage their waste sustainably and help keep the City clean and green.

All businesses in the City of Sydney area are required to have their own waste contractor to collect and dispose of their rubbish. The City also strongly recommends that businesses hire their own recycling contractor to collect their recyclables.

Visit the Rules and Regulations page for more information on waste policies for businesses.

Zero Waste Partners

Zero Waste Partners is a waste education program for small to medium sized businesses in the City of Sydney. The program encourages partners to avoid waste, reuse, recycle more and help reduce littering and illegal dumping in the City.

To get involved or to find out more information, visit the Zero Waste Partners page.
