Bower Re-use & Repair Co-op
The Bower operates as a repair and re-use center which collects, repairs and resells goods diverted from the municipal waste stream and educate the community about waste reduction.
The Bower also offers a referral service, if they can't accept your items they will assist you to find someone who will.

Engine Oil
By pouring your used engine oil back into an empty oil container and taking it to your local used oil facility for recycling, you are helping to conserve a valuable resource and protect the environment.
A new website www.oilrecycling.gov.au contains information on how to correctly dispose of your used oil, uses for recycled oil and effects that used oil can have on the environment.

Fibro Containing Asbestos
Fibro containing asbestos cannot be reused or recycled.

Fibro containing asbestos must be taken to one of the licenced landfill centres listed below. Each facility will have wrapping requirements and unloading requirements for fibro containing asbestos. Contact the facility before visiting.

Paint contains chemicals such as solvents and metals which can contaminate our groundwater and endanger human health. By recycling your paint you can play an important role in protecting our environment.

Reverse Garbage
Reverse Garbage is a not-for-profit cooperative that sells industrial discards, off-cuts and over-runs to the public for creative and practical uses, reducing the amount of waste going to landfill.

Toys
Before you throw away your unwanted toys, think about the Toy Restoration Centre at Jannali.
The Centre has been operating since 1975. All the volunteers are senior citizens who volunteer their time four mornings a week to repair and recycle old and broken toys. A small percentage of the repaired toys are sold to raise money. The rest are donated to disadvantaged children. Last year a staggering 6000 toys were given away. Any unwanted or broken toys can be donated to the Centre on 02 9528 4024.
