6:00 PM - 8:30 PM

City of Sydney’s Martin Place Christmas celebrations just get bigger and better each year, with more entertainment than ever before. This year we are very excited to have comedian, author and radio personality Wendy Harmer as the MC of our concert. Wendy will lead an evening of great entertainment with highlights including Lucy Durack and Jemma Rix from the musical Wicked, children’s entertainment favourites Justine Clarke, Monica Trapaga, ABC TV’s Koala Brothers, and the Australian Girls Choir. The choir will be joined by Australian singer/songwriter Melinda Schneider for a very special rendition of Silent Night.

As always the concert will conclude with the lighting of the largest Christmas tree in the City. The Martin Place Christmas tree is 21 metres high and includes 58,000 LED lights, 315 star lights and a 1.5 metre seven pointed star on the top. The lighting of the tree will climax with a spectacular fireworks display.

Our new Christmas Charity Partner, DoggieRescue.com will have a stall at the concert and donations for showbags will be collected by DoggieRescue.com staff to help support their valuable role in the community.

Of course, Santa will arrive in his sleigh at Martin Place and make an appearance on stage. There will also be Christmas Angels and you might even glimpse Australian children’s book favourite Grug enjoying the concert. Helping Lord Mayor Clover Moore MP to light the giant Christmas tree lights from the stage will be the winner of the colouring-in competition.
