Selection of our Sydney New Year’s Eve website as an Official Honoree in the 2009 Webby Awards is an honour for the City of Sydney.

The Webby Awards are the leading international award honouring excellence on the Internet. Winners are chosen by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences, a global organisation whose members include David Bowie, Beck,
Richard Branson, Internet Inventor Vint Cerf, Harvey Weinstein, Matt Groening and writers and editors from publications such as The New York Times, Wired, Details, Fast Company and WallPaper.

From nearly 10,000 entries submitted to the 13th Annual Webby Awards from over 60 countries, fewer than 15% were distinguished as an Official Honoree. Inclusion of our Sydney New Year’s Eve website in this selection is a testament to the outstanding work and creativity of the team behind the site and the world’s greatest event.
