National Film and Sound Archive
A significant proportion of the content for the Wireless House project has come from the National Film and Sound Archive.
The Artist has worked closely with the Archives curators to select a wide range of typical 30's and 40's radio content, reflecting the original history and use of the Wireless House.
The National Film and Sound Archive is the national audiovisual archive, and is an important organisation which works to document and interpret the Australian experience through screen and sound.
The Archive collects, stores, preserves valuable screen and sound material, which ranges from our earliest film images to modern day classics, television shows, and music hits from all the generations.
Making the collection accessible to all people is achieved in many ways - by supplying footage and recordings for use in television and radio productions, through regular screenings of some of Australia's greatest films, through innovative exhibitions, Women in Early Radio , Online Collection , educational programs and see also outreach programs., and on the website.
