Redfern Community Centre upgrade works
Better lighting and access for local communities.

Work was completed in January 2021.
What we’re doing
This important community centre is a place for culture and recreation activities with a focus on art, music, culture, employment and training and events.
Works include:
- a timber connection bridge and brick platform connecting to the after school care program entrance
- new brick stairs next to the timber bridge to help connect to the amphitheatre
- low level lighting on the brick stairs for safe use at night.
Impacts and distruptions
Construction will take place Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 5.30pm, and Saturday from 7.30am to 3.30pm.
No work will take place on Sunday or public holidays. There will be some machinery noise.
Our contractors will minimise noise as much as possible.
There is no access to the concrete amphitheatre directly outside the centre while construction works take place.
