What we’re doing
We’re upgrading the pool heating system so it can be powered by 100% renewable electricity.
Efficient electric heat pumps will replace the ageing gas pool heating equipment and the toddler pool will be resurfaced.
We’re also redesigning the reception and gym office and upgrading the air-conditioning system.
The gym will remain open during this time.
Why we’re doing this
We’re committed to tackling climate change and cutting carbon emissions. We’re transitioning away from the use of fossil fuels at our public facilities.
All our operations are powered by 100% renewable electricity and our goal is reach net zero emissions by 2035.
City of Sydney aquatic and fitness centres
360 Pro Membership, 360 Pro Visit Pass, 360 Learn to Swim Membership, 360 Active Membership and 360 Active Visit Pass holders can access our other aquatic and fitness centres. Members can also choose to suspend their membership while Victoria Park Pool is closed.
Members can access Prince Alfred Park Pool , Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre , Gunyama Park Aquatic and Recreation Centre and Cook + Phillip Park Pool .
Prince Alfred Park Pool in Surry Hills is the nearest outdoor pool and Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre in Ultimo is the closest indoor pool.
