Remix Business of Culture incubator program
Business of Culture is a new online course and incubator program to support the cultural and creative industries to develop new ideas that build new revenue streams and audiences.
Rethinking cultural and creative business growth
The 2021 Remix Business of Culture incubator is a 6-month capacity building program for Sydney’s cultural and creative businesses.
Ten successful organisations and creative entrepreneurs will participate in the intensive program to develop sustainable income strategies that support creative practice.
A further 20 participants will be invited to undertake the Business of Culture course through self-directed online learning. The course includes 12 months access to 500+ on-demand REMIX Summit talks.
Learning modules include:
- Supporting innovation, inside and outside the organisation
- Seeing what you do and possess through fresh eyes
- How to interpret your mission for today’s users
- Using proof-of-concepts to supercharge innovation
- What bootstrapping means in practice to minimise costs
- Growth-hacking strategies to amplify success
- Different models for making money: online, offline and hybrid
- How to design smarter creative business models
- Alternative sources of investment.

With the support of the City of Sydney, this program will run each year to support the local creative community to learn and evolve in a rapidly changing digital landscape.
Program participants will discover how to take advantage of trends and generate the resources to sustain creative business in these uniquely challenging times.
