Fabulous feasts, spectacular shows and magnificent artworks.

A large, colourful lantern shaped like an origami snake sits on a plinth outside the Queen Victoria Building at night. It is lit from below by a bright white light, and its orange, violet, pink and blue translucent panels catch the light and seem to glow.
Sydney Lunar Festival is a celebration of the Lunar New Year, with the 2025 festival celebrating the Year of the Snake.

Our Sydney Lunar Festival program is one of the biggest Lunar New Year celebrations outside of Asia. Street parties, live entertainment, delicious food, lion dances, dragon boats and art and light installations dazzled crowds during this year's festival.
