Catherine Street, Glebe: new trees and garden beds
We're making the area more visually appealing and increasing safety for people who ride.
Project Status: Completed
The works were started in April 2018 and were completed in June 2018.
Improving local streets
We have planted 10 more trees on Catherine Street in Glebe. The trees have been planted in new garden beds within the road pavement. The work required us to remove 6 parking spaces on Catherine Street, which were replaced with 3 new spaces in other parts of the street.
As part of our work to improve safety for people riding, we also removed the line marking for the shoulder bike lanes. This is to encourage people to ride away from the car door zone and out of harm’s way.
