Increasing tree canopy in the Crystal Street Plaza, Waterloo
Project Status: Completed
Works started in May 2022 and were completed in September 2022.
What we’re doing
These works in Crystal Street Plaza will replace the 13 palm trees with new weeping lilli pilli trees (Waterhousea floribunda) on raised planters.
These larger canopy trees will provide more shade, and together with the new seating we will install, will make the plaza a more pleasant place for residents and visitors.
Our contractor QMC Group will carry out the works.
Steps will be taken to minimise the impacts of these works, but there will be some machinery noise and dust. There will also be temporary changes to the traffic flow to allow access for construction materials and equipment.
This project is part of the Greening Our City grant program funded by the NSW Government with Local Government NSW.
