Ernest Wright Playground upgrade
We’re improving this popular neighbourhood playground in Newtown for everyone to enjoy.
Project Status: Completed
Works started in February 2023 and were completed in May 2023.
What we’re doing
Upgrading Ernest Wright Playground in Newtown will improve the reserve for everyone to enjoy.
The upgrade includes:
- new playground equipment and rubber softfall
- a paved accessible path and timber boundary fence
- gardens and edging
- new benches and a bubbler.
The playground will be closed during the works. The nearest playgrounds in Newtown are:
- Camperdown Memorial Rest Park Playground, Federation Road, Lennox and Church streets
- Hollis Park Playground 168-184 Wilson Street
- Goddard Playground 39-43 O'Connell Street.
While we’ll take steps to minimise other impacts on you, there’ll be some machinery noise. Parking may be impacted due to access requirements for construction materials and equipment.
