Upgrade works for Daniel Dawson Reserve, Alexandria
The park and playground will be upgraded with features for everyone to enjoy.
Project Status: Completed
Work started in August 2020 and was completed in April 2021.
What we’re doing
Upgrade works that will include:
- new play equipment including a triple swing set, a climbing mound, an embankment slide and a climbing net
- plants in the playspace to provide a sensory play experience
- a new shade structure, a playground fence, a sitting wall, picnic tables and seating
- a new internal loop path within the park
- new trees and more plants
- maintaining the open grass and mature trees.
Impacts and disruptions
The park will be closed during the works. The nearest playgrounds are:
- South Eveleigh Playground, Eveleigh
- Jack Shuttleworth Reserve Playground, Mitchell Road, Alexandria
- Redfern Community Centre Playground, Hugo Street, Redfern
- Douglas Street Peoples Park Playground, Redfern.
We will take steps to minimise other impacts. However, there will be some machinery noise and dust.
