Artwork description

Tutting is a mind-blowing new dance craze featuring highly intricate and rhythmic patterns of the hands, fingers and arms, inspired by the hieroglyphics drawn in the ancient tomb of King Tutankhamun. Emerging from the underground dance scene alongside vogueing, tutting’s revival has come about thanks to an explosion of online videos.

Tut keeps it up close and personal for on-street audiences so they can enjoy the intricate details of the dance, while also being projected in real time on to industrial screens for the entire city centre to marvel at. It celebrates the amazing skills of the recently rediscovered dance with a performance created for, by and starring the people of Sydney.
