Your feedback on the proposed design for McKee Street Reserve, Ultimo
Project Status: Closed
Council approved this project at its February 2023 meeting. Construction has begun.
What we’re doing
We plan to make improvements to the reserve at McKee Street, Ultimo .
The proposal for McKee Street Reserve includes:
- softfall and a shade sail for the upgraded playground
- a new swing and merry-go-round
- a new play structure for toddlers, with a slide, deck platform and climbing wall
- an open, paved plaza with more seats, tables and a barbecue
- a new rear fence to Wattle Lane with plants along it
- removing some smaller trees so the existing mature trees can thrive
- upgraded lighting.
Why we’re doing this
This is part of our parks upgrade program where over the next 10 years we will upgrade more than 60 parks across the City of Sydney area, from small pocket parks to larger local parks.
We’re asking local community groups and residents for their feedback on the concept design. We’re interested in understanding who uses the current playground, what works and what doesn’t. We’d also like to hear any ideas you have for the new playground.
Next steps
We will report all feedback and design changes to Council, and we will continue to a detailed design. We will keep you updated on the progress of this project.
