Your feedback on a new cycling connection between Ultimo and Surry Hills
Project Status: Closed
Council approved the concept design on 21 August 2023.
Why we’re doing this
We invited community feedback about a cycleway between Glebe and Ultimo, from Bay Street to the Goods Line, in November 2022. Council approved the plan in February 2023. We’re now inviting your feedback on a plan to continue the cycling connection.
What we’re doing
The project includes:
- 2-way cycleways
- quiet ways where people riding and people driving can share the space in a lower speed environment
- shared paths
- new tree plantings and garden beds.
This project will not remove any trees. The proposal removes 2 parking spaces from Ultimo Road and 13 spaces from the southern side of Campbell Street between Pitt and Castlereagh streets. No other traffic changes are planned.
