Your feedback on the proposed design for Regent Street Reserve, Paddington
Project Status: Under review
Contributions to this consultation are closed for evaluation and review. The project team will report back on key outcomes.
What we’re doing
We plan to upgrade Regent Street Reserve in Paddington.
We’ve developed a concept design for the space based on your feedback from our consultation in 2023.
Our concept design includes:
- upgrading the pathways
- raising the lawn to improve the turf and encourage use of the pathways
- new sandstone seating walls and retaining the existing sandstone walls
- new planting areas and more plants in the existing garden beds
- new furniture including bench seats, water bubbler with dog bowl and 2 bins with dog bag dispensers
- improved lighting through to Regent Street.
We need to remove 4 small trees adjacent to Regent Street to create better sight lines through the park and improve safety. We will plant a new feature tree as part of these works. The canopy from the large established trees will be maintained.
Why we’re doing this
This is part of our parks upgrade program where over the next 10 years we will upgrade more than 60 parks across the City of Sydney area, from small pocket parks to larger local parks.
We’re asking local community groups and residents for their feedback on the concept design. We’re interested in understanding who uses the current space, what works and what doesn’t. We’d also like to hear any ideas you have for the space.
Next steps
We will report all feedback and design changes to Council and will continue to a detailed design. We will keep you updated on the progress of this project.
