Community insights report 2024
The vision, hopes and aspirations of local communities are the foundation of every community strategic plan.
Since the community strategic plan was adopted by Council in 2022, we’ve continued to engage our diverse communities on our plans to achieve the vision for Sydney in 2050.
Over the past 2 years, we’ve consulted the community extensively to develop new strategies that address key issues including resilience, climate and sustainability, economic development, cultural life, walking and access, affordable housing and food security.
Takeaways
This report integrates community insights drawn from numerous engagement activities between 2022 and 2024.
We reviewed 13,790 pieces of feedback from 27 consultations and analysed 7,724 comments collected from open-field survey questions. Each comment was categorised according to its alignment with the community values identified in the community insights report 2022, which informed the community strategic plan adopted in 2022.
Community priorities remain focused on creating a liveable, sustainable, and inclusive city that supports diverse communities, offers accessible public spaces and actively addresses the challenges posed by climate change.
