This service can be particularly helpful for sites in the city centre where high numbers of people walking can be expected.

Consultations are recommended to identify:
- any requirements of the Local Pedestrian, Cycling and Traffic Calming Committee such as works zone or specific road use requirements
- current or proposed city infrastructure works including footpath reconstruction/resurfacing
- construction of the cycleway network and light rail transport system
- restrictions on the installation and removal of temporary structures during the Christmas and New Year holiday periods.

Fees and charges
The consultation fee is listed in our schedule of fees and charges.
Some hoardings, mainly type B, also require payment of a performance bond to cover damage to property, such as footpath surfaces, street trees and other requirements. Further details are available in clause 1.12.2 of the guidelines for hoardings and scaffolding.
