At its meeting on 17 March 2025, Council resolved to prioritise local Aboriginal creative and cultural use of 107 Redfern Street.
Redfern is recognised as a significant place of Aboriginal life, resistance and self-determination, with an enduring history of community-led movements, cultural pride and leadership.

We have 6 spaces available at 107 Redfern Street, Redfern for cultural and creative use through our short-term empty properties program.
This 2-storey industrial-style facility is in the heart of Redfern.

Cultural and creative leaders, artists, knowledge holders and creative workers are invited to apply for a space, a combination of spaces, the full ground floor or first floor. All spaces will be unfurnished.
We strongly encourage Aboriginal-led and community-controlled organisations and cultural practitioners to apply.
This opportunity is designed to activate 107 Redfern Street while we consider its future as a centre for Aboriginal creativity and culture.
Eligible applicants can apply for a cash grant from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander collaboration fund to support the activation, establishment or programming of the spaces.
