Expression of interest: NAIDOC in the City event management
Project Status: Closed
Applications closed on Monday 26 August 2024.
We’ll notify shortlisted respondents week commencing 9 September 2024.
NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to highlight the history, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
It comes from the historical emergence of the need to increase awareness about the status and treatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
NAIDOC Week is celebrated by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities as well as Australians from all walks of life. As part of NAIDOC Week, the City of Sydney hosts NAIDOC in the City, traditionally in Hyde Park Sydney. It’s a significant part of the Eora Journey.
We’re seeking fresh ideas from a qualified organisation for NAIDOC in the City. The event should provide opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, creatives and businesses, and actively connect with local communities. While the brief is open, the event should be held within the City of Sydney’s area and complement other NAIDOC events across Greater Sydney.
