About this opportunity

The anti-racism allyship network is a collaborative community of individuals committed to actively combating racism and fostering an inclusive, equitable environment for everyone. As part of this network, allies play a vital role in challenging discriminatory systems, amplifying marginalised voices and taking meaningful action to promote racial justice.

In recognition of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination on 21 March, we invite expressions of interest from community members to join our anti-racism allyship network. The network aims to strengthen community and support both individual and collective actions to advance anti-racism efforts in our city.

Being an ally is an ongoing commitment to learning, listening and acting. Our aim is to create a supportive network where individuals can deepen their understanding of racism and allyship while taking concrete actions to make a difference where they can.

This network collaborates with the NSW Anti-Racism Working Group, a network made up of local councils, government agencies and non-government organisations committed to addressing racism in NSW.

Eligibility

  • We encourage people who live, study or work in the City of Sydney local area
  • You must be over 18 years old

Evaluation criteria

  • Be committed to listening, learning and engaging in tangible support for marginalised communities

  • sharing resources and strategies for promoting racial justice
  • collaborative discussions and action planning
