About this opportunity

We produce some of Australia’s largest and most successful events, and appoint charity partners to be part of them.

Charities can partner with us for:

  • Sydney Christmas 2025 with the option to extend for one year in 2026
  • Sydney New Year’s Eve 2025 with the option to extend for one year in 2026
  • Sydney Lunar Festival 2026 with the option to extend for one year in 2027.

Our charity partners can promote their brand through the event while carrying out fundraising and promotion. The charity partner will be featured in our media and marketing campaigns where possible.

We encourage applications from a range of charities and may approach potential candidates to join us. An evaluation panel will review all applications and present its recommendations to Council. Once selected, we’ll prepare a Charity Participation Agreement.

Any appointment of a charity partner for an event is on a non-exclusive basis. We may also support an additional specified charity through an event in case of a humanitarian crisis.

We reserve the right to proceed without a charity partner for any event or not to hold any event.

Evaluation criteria

Sydney Christmas – 27 November to 25 December 2025

In 2025, we’ll create interactive paid activations as part of the event program, which provide a significant fundraising and profile building opportunity.

Sydney New Year’s Eve – late November to end December 2025

Sydney New Year’s Eve is attended by more than one million people around the harbour foreshore and reaches more than 425 million people globally. The program includes the 9pm Calling Country fireworks, midnight fireworks and live broadcast.

We’ll help the charity partner fundraise and build their profile as part of the event.

Sydney Lunar Festival – February 2026

The Sydney Lunar Festival is a celebration of the Lunar New Year. In 2026, we’ll mark the 30th anniversary of the festival and the Year of the Horse.

The festival includes lanterns, performances and activations. We’ll help the charity fundraise and build their profile as part of the festival.
