We invite applications for a community market operator in Taylor Square north.

A market operator who can provide a curated offering with a point of difference in the City of Sydney’s area while complementing the surrounding area and existing businesses will be suitable. They should also demonstrate a clear commitment to our goals in Sustainable Sydney 2030–2050 Continuing the Vision.

The market must be an interesting and vibrant destination selling quality goods and/or services which represents value for money for local communities.

Initial operation and management period would be for a one-year consent term, with options for 2 further 24-month terms (a maximum of 5 years).

You must complete all parts of the request for proposal forms. We may reject any incomplete application.

About the market operator consent

The successful operator must enter a consent agreement with us for the approval of a market proposal on community land and gain any other necessary approvals. The terms of consent will include a fee calculated in line with our markets policy and revenues policy.

How to apply

We’ll review all applications. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to present to an assessment panel.

Presentations must include further details including safety and security, and managing traffic and waste.
