What we’re doing
We invite your feedback on proposed changes to planning controls for 242–258 Young Street, Waterloo. The proposal will enable a 6-storey building comprising a K–12 independent school and an integrated film school.
The proposed changes are to:
- increase the maximum building height from 15m to 25m
- increase the maximum floor space ratio from 2.2:1 (including bonuses) to 2.94:1 (including bonuses)
- require dedication of footpath widening setbacks to the City of Sydney
- require deep soil landscape setbacks and retention of trees
- require the building be used primarily for an educational establishment.
The documents open for comment include a planning proposal to amend the Sydney Local Environmental Plan 2012 and a draft design guide.
We also invite your feedback on a draft planning agreement, which includes 2 new pedestrian crossings on Young and Powell streets.
